The Era of Tutankhamun In 1922, the tomb of King Tutankhamun was discovered in the Valley of the Kings in Thebes. Nearly 5,000 precious cultural relics were unearthed from the tomb, which were luxurious and spectacular, triggering "Egyptomania". Amun was one of the eight original gods of Heliopolis. At the beginning of the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom, Amun merged with the sun god Ra to become the god Amun-Ra, and was elevated to the status of "national god". The father of Tutankhamun, King Akhenaten, moved the capital to Amarna in the 5th year of his reign and carried out religious reforms, advocating the supremacy of Aten. The image of the god Aten is a sun wheel, the god of creation. Akhenaten advocated only worshiping Aten. He also abolished the cumbersome temple ceremonies and advocated direct communication with the god Aten in a simple way in the open-air courtyard. He created a new artistic style-"Amarna style". During the reign of Tutankhamun, the capital was moved back to Memphis, and he embarked on the road to return to tradition. The artistic style of this period not only inherited the "Amarna style", but also revived the tradition of ancient Egypt, which had a profound impact on the art of the royal family and nobles of the 19th Dynasty and later. Tutankhamun died at the age of eighteen, and the rule of the 18th Dynasty also ended with his death and the end of the "Amarna Reform".
