Summer Vacation in Shanghai | InterContinental Shanghai Pudong Hotel

During summer trips, children love staying in hotels and tasting delicious food. This time, I took my daughter to the InterContinental Shanghai Pudong Hotel. It's a 6-minute walk from the Century Avenue subway station, and nearby are the First Yaohan and Century Link Mall. This is the first five-star luxury hotel in Pudong. The hotel's hollow design and geometric symmetry made me, a fan of photographing architecture, take several shots. The light and shadow were truly beautiful. We stayed in the Diplomat Suite, where you can overlook the cityscape of Shanghai from the floor-to-ceiling windows, which I really liked. The living room also has a great view, and the desk allows me to handle my work. The bedroom has a large leather lounge chair, and the TV can rotate 360 degrees, so you can watch it from the bed or the lounge chair. The 24th floor is the executive lounge, where a high-value afternoon tea is a must for hotel stays. It's clear that the chef put a lot of thought into it; this afternoon tea has a 'Wizard of Oz' feel, bringing a touch of coolness to this year's scorching summer. The savory and sweet snacks taste good, and one of the lemon-flavored pastries is perfect for summer. We paired it with Tieguanyin tea, making for a comfortable and leisurely afternoon. The Oriental Restaurant on the first floor of the hotel is a hidden gem. The average cost is not high, the taste is great, and the portions are generous. The glass-covered dish at dinner amazed me; it was different from ordinary cold dishes. The presentation and taste were both excellent. The drunken crayfish can be eaten directly without peeling, and the snail meat and salted duck also tasted good. I particularly recommend the mushroom beef ribs; the stewed beef is tender and plentiful, with a rich and delicious sauce. The braised cod with lotus root was also different from the usual preparation. My daughter loves cod and has tried it in many restaurants. The Oriental Restaurant's version is somewhat like braised pork, more flavorful and delicious, and she even took half of my fish. For lunch, we returned to the Oriental Restaurant to try the freshly made Cantonese dim sum by the chef. Sitting by the window along the street was very nice. The enthusiastic service during dinner yesterday was one of the reasons I came back. There are many varieties of Cantonese dim sum, and the shrimp in the shrimp dumplings is particularly large and freshly made, which tastes different. The crispy wind sand chicken, marinated tofu, snow mountain char siu buns, and char siu rice rolls are all very authentic, and the key is that they are delicious and not expensive.
