Lotus Appreciation at Guyi Garden

The lotus and water lilies in Shanghai are in full bloom, spreading like "summer paintings" across Guyi Garden. We braved the high temperatures early in the morning to visit Guyi Garden for lotus appreciation and photography. This is a must-visit spot for us every year... Guyi Garden is a classical garden with a long history and rich cultural connotations. It was first built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and was originally named "Yi Garden." It was later renamed "Guyi Garden" in the eleventh year of the Qianlong reign (1746) of the Qing Dynasty. It features typical Jiangnan garden styles, with pavilions, terraces, towers, small bridges, flowing water, rockeries, and bonsai... At this moment, the lotus flowers are either in full bloom or budding, swaying gracefully in the breeze. The occasional misting adds a touch of ethereal beauty to the lotuses, making them appear even more elegant and otherworldly, like a dreamlike fairyland...
