The dark exhibition hall is like a darkroom where a photographer develops his photos, allowing the audience to immediately enter his world. This time, all exhibits are displayed in light boxes or printed in high definition, so there is no concern about glare. Chen's early works are filled with bright lights, colorful roads, and the sharp contrast between warm and cool tones and the old and new urban areas, which are both beautiful and exciting. In particular, with his skilled digital post-processing technology, he also collages and folds the city, sometimes making it look like a romantic city in literary and artistic films, and sometimes with the mystery and weirdness of cyberpunk. Recently, Chen prefers to take photos on the streets of the city, such as the brightly lit and crowded City God Temple, the old city that is being demolished, or some small alleys in the former French Concession area.
