Tucked away in the Nanxiang Ancient Town is a stunning Jiangnan-style garden

After so many visits to Nanxiang Ancient Town! This time, we finally got to see the free opening of the Tan Garden, allowing us the privilege to enter and admire its enchanting charm. Tan Garden is a famous scholar's garden in Nanxiang Ancient Town, designed and built by the Ming Dynasty literati, painter, and seal engraver Li Liufang in the thirty-third year of the Wanli era (1605). Regrettably, the garden was damaged during the 'Jiading Massacres'. In 2011, Tan Garden was rebuilt on its original site and opened to the public. The architectural style is mainly that of Jiangnan gardens from the Ming and Qing dynasties, covering more than 3 acres, with attractions such as Baozun Hall, Ci Zui Pavilion, Shanyu Building, and Furong Bin. To celebrate the Jiading Auto Festival, Tan Garden is free of charge until May 31, 2024, with no reservation required, while the regular ticket price is 22 yuan per person. 🕐 Suggested visiting time: 1 hour 🚗 Park at the Nanxiang Ancient Town parking lot, 7 yuan/hour
