In spring, the Qiuxia Garden lacks red maples, yet it is a real-life version of the Emerald City. Qiuxia Garden is one of the oldest classical gardens in Shanghai, ranking alongside Songjiang Zuibaichi, Shanghai Yuyuan, Guyi Garden, and Qingpu Quyuan as the five major classical gardens of Shanghai. Qiuxia Garden is the most completely preserved one, established in the year 1502, and is now 522 years old. Without the red maple leaves, Qiuxia Garden is exceptionally tranquil. There are few visitors, and although it lacks the colorful foliage and layers of forests dyed with autumn colors, it has lush green maple leaves, presenting a scene brimming with the essence of spring, resembling a secret jungle retreat within the city.
