🌸Wisteria Garden: Located on the south bank of the ancient city river in Jiading, Jiading Wisteria Garden was built in 1997 and opened in 2000. It is the first wisteria-themed park in China. The 1990s were the honeymoon period of friendship between the two countries, and the wisteria was a fine variety provided by Okayama Prefecture and Nankai Town in Japan. At that time, Mr. Michio Fujimoto, the then mayor of Nankai Town, donated and personally grafted and cultivated dozens of varieties and more than 100 wisteria plants. Wisteria is a vigorous climbing plant that must be pruned twice a year to ensure beautiful blooms, once in January for winter pruning and once in May for summer pruning. Since the garden was established, Mr. Fujimoto has visited Jiading at least twice a year to guide the pruning and management of the wisteria. As he grew older, he knew that one day he would no longer be able to prune personally, so in May 2017, he specially selected five masters from the staff of the Wisteria Garden to be his apprentices, passing on the techniques of wisteria pruning and management. 🌸Wisteria Bloom: The park covers an area of more than 10,000 square meters. In the small garden, there are branches and vines of different varieties of wisteria. During the blooming season, wisteria flower clusters hang down from the green leaves, dreamy and beautiful. What's different here is the rich colors of the wisteria, including not only the common light purple and dark purple but also white and pink, creating a romantic gradient. Due to its fame, the park is crowded during the blooming season. Those who want to take photos are advised to come early or avoid the weekend peak. 🌸Wisteria Blooming Period: Mid to late April, the blooming period lasts for about twenty days.
