This Labor Day holiday is a bit topsy-turvy. I wanted to go to Hangzhou, but all the train tickets were sold out. Thinking back to the crowds on the Broken Bridge at West Lake last year, I'm not fussed about where to go anymore. In fact, there are quite a few fun places for family outings in Shanghai, and now many places have special Labor Day programs. We went to the Pujiang Countryside Miracle Garden over the weekend. I thought Miracle Garden was just for flower viewing, but to my surprise, there were so many wonderful activities and exhibitions. The 5.1 activities are starting to warm up, and we just happened to encounter NPC interactions. NPCs will actively invite children to take photos, and even hand out props to the kids, scoring full marks for friendliness. The garden is also hosting the 'Ancient Dream Qi Hua - Beasts from the East' national style garden art exhibition at the same time, featuring blue and white porcelain exhibitions, dragons playing with flowers, and more. Yesterday, I saw the schedule for the activities during the 5.1 period, which includes traditional garden tours, trendy performances, and trendy play experiences. Some activities (Peking opera stilt walking, Sichuan opera face-changing, bubble clowns, panda + Qiqi rabbit mascots) have already started, and there might be more NPC interactions and performances during the holiday. Personally, I think the children really enjoyed the ancient-style games at the Song Dynasty garden party, such as hammering balls, pitching pots, kicking shuttlecocks, and archery. There's also a free children's playground, so you can have a day of fun without repeating the same activities.
