Shanghai Attraction Sun Ke Villa: Spanish and Italian style architecture with Shanghai style culture

#ShanghaiAttractions Sun Ke Villa📍: No. 60 Panyu Road and No. 1262 Yan'an West Road (there are two entrances) 🚘: 20 minutes walk from "Yan'an West Road" Station on Metro Line 3 or 20 minutes walk from "Jiaotong University" Station on Metro Line 10/11. This building, built in 1931 as the private residence of Sun Yat-sen's son, remained mysterious for 89 years until it was opened to the public after restoration in 2020. As a classic residential work by the famous architect Hudec, this building combines Spanish and Italian Renaissance styles. · Red cylindrical tiles, doors and windows of various shapes, wooden floors...fully display the characteristics of Shanghai culture! It has very typical Spanish architectural features: gently sloping red tile roofs, pointed porches, spiral columns, roughened stucco and other elements. The interior is a fusion of Italian Renaissance (door and window pattern decorations, fireplaces, round arch windows) and Baroque styles (arches and dome shapes). I particularly like the octagonal reception room on the first floor. The intersecting ceiling arches and the pointed dome windows on each wall create a very sharp contrast and a strong sense of ceremony.
