Zhabei Park

Zhabei Park is located at No. 1555 Gonghexin Road, Jing'an District, Shanghai, bordered by Gonghexin Road to the west, Luochuan East Road to the south, Pingguan Road to the east, and Extended Road to the north. It was established in 1913, commonly known as Song Park, renamed to Jiaoren Park in 1946, and renamed to Zhabei Park in 1950. The park contains the tomb of Song Jiaoren. The park is roughly rectangular from east to west and adopts a natural layout. The western part of the park is centered around Song's tomb, with a mound and a lotus pond behind it. The central part of the park is the main scenic area, featuring a garden lake of over 10,000 square meters with varying widths and a meandering shoreline. There are two large islands and a peninsula in the lake, with artificial hills scattered across the islands. The main building, Chunhui Hall, is located at the eastern end of the garden lake, with other pavilions and waterside pavilions mostly built on the islands or along the lake shore. The eastern part of the park consists of a forest area, lawns, a lotus pond, and a children's garden. The park has the charm of a southern Chinese garden, with pavilions, winding paths, shaded green trees, blooming flowers and plants, and changing views at every step. Each scene is picturesque and makes for a great place for people to enjoy the scenery, relax, entertain, and exercise.
