As Shanghai's island hotel, the InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland Hotel enjoys the entire southern island of Dianshui Lake, with nearly 100,000 square meters of garden greenery, lakeside proximity, and enchanting scenery. The hotel is situated in the Lingang New Town of Pudong New Area, Shanghai, on the southern island in the middle of Dianshui Lake, Shanghai's largest man-made lake, and is a unique existence. Located on the southern island of Dianshui Lake, the hotel boasts picturesque lake views and was transformed from the previously popular Dianshui Lake Crowne Plaza Hotel. It was originally the Shanghai Dianshui Lake Crowne Plaza Hotel, which opened in 2012. After ten years of operation, it was redesigned by HBA Design Firm, and after more than a year of renovation, it re-emerged with a new look as an InterContinental Hotel. The newly renovated hotel lobby is nearly 20 meters high, with a sunlit dome that is bright and transparent. During this upgrade, most of the rooms were combined in a three-to-two manner, reducing the number of rooms to 281, and the size of standard rooms was increased to nearly 50 square meters, greatly enhancing the guest experience. The details in the rooms are exquisite, with all rooms featuring a separate cloakroom, a spacious four-person corner sofa, and a mini-bar equipped with a French L'or capsule coffee machine. The addition of green plants also brings vitality to the space. Both indoor and outdoor swimming pools are aesthetically pleasing, and there are many child-friendly activities nearby, making it a great choice for weekend and summer vacations! The original front desk location has now become the bar counter of the lobby bar, and the front desk has been placed inside three 'large shells,' fitting the 'island resort' design theme. ⭐Rooms The room I stayed in this time was the Deluxe Lake View Balcony Executive Room with a king bed, featuring two balconies and a separate living space. A corner sofa facing the balcony highlights the hotel's resort nature. It's truly comfortable to brew a pot of tea here! The bathroom, which is 'just a door away' from the bedroom, has a sliding door that, when opened, allows one to enjoy the lake view while taking a bath.
