Exhibition Name: Between the Lines Exhibition Location: ShanghART Gallery (2555 Longteng Avenue) Public Transportation: Metro Line 11 Yunjin Road Station, Binjiang No.1 Exhibition Date: January 27 to March 3, 2024 Exhibition Tickets: Free without reservation Exhibition Introduction: ShanghART Shanghai presents, the exhibition titled 'Between the Lines', invites 24 artists/groups to create with paper as a medium, exploring the creative rhetorical roles of paper as a natural material, an image condensation, or a narrative carrier in artists' creation. The 'wordless' paper becomes a new visual language, revealing the unrestrained creation and practice of artists with the help of paper in diverse creative forms. The exhibition will explore separately from the six themes of 'Folding', 'Object', 'Abstract', 'Paper as Plant', 'Theatre', 'Continuation': the changes in paper under external forces, the meaning of 'text' and 'ink', the extension of paper beyond its natural essence, paper as a two-dimensional stage for situational occurrences, and the artistic imagination from image to paper. Mist Language Wind Words: The language of artists is too profound, ordinary people should go to the exhibition based on intuition, among the six subjects, only the exhibits in the 'Folding' section have a bit of artistic sense.
