A grand opening! The grand opening exhibition of the Shanghai Museum East Museum - Sanxingdui Jinsha Ancient Shu Civilization Exhibition is shocking

On February 2, the Shanghai Museum East Museum was officially opened, the "Bronze Museum" was trial opened, and the "Star Shining China" was opened, kicking off the "Opening Trilogy" of the Shanghai Museum East Museum. The Shanghai Museum, in conjunction with the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, the Sichuan Guanghan Sanxingdui Museum, the Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum and 28 other units, grandly held the "What is China" Cultural Relics Archaeological Exhibition Series Season 3 "Star Shining China: Sanxingdui·Jinsha Ancient Shu Civilization Exhibition". This exhibition includes a total of 363 pieces/sets of cultural relics, bringing together the latest archaeological discoveries and the latest cultural relic restoration results. It is the largest scale and highest standard lineup of ancient Shu civilization archaeological artifacts unearthed outside Sichuan Province so far. The most attractive part of this exhibition is naturally the gold mask. The gold mask and the bronze human head were unearthed in 2021 from the No. 8 sacrificial pit of the Sanxingdui site, and were restored by experts from the Shanghai Museum. They made their first public appearance in this exhibition. Next to the gold mask stands the large bronze mask unearthed in 2021, which is the best preserved of the same type and specification masks.
