A bridge spans the Huangpu River - Nanpu Bridge

The Nanpu Bridge is 8364 meters long, with the main bridge being 836 meters long. It is the first double-tower, double-cable-stayed bridge in Shanghai's urban area that was designed and built independently. The main bridge adopts a composite beam structure combining steel beams and reinforced concrete prefabricated slabs. The main bridge tower is a folded-line H-shaped reinforced concrete structure. Each tower is connected to the main beam with steel cables on both sides, and the cable surface is arranged in a fan shape. The tower base uses a steel pipe pile group pile foundation; the bridge approach of the bridge is a prestressed reinforced concrete beam body and a reinforced concrete pier structure. The Puxi approach bridge connects to the surrounding streets with a spiral curve, and the Pudong approach bridge leads directly to the street to the east, and is connected to the two ends of Pudong South Road with two long oval curves. The design of the Nanpu Bridge is intended to be 'a dragon with its head up', like a giant dragon lying across the Huangpu River. It has fulfilled the dream of Shanghai people of 'a bridge spanning the Huangpu River'. The bridge is strong and upright, simple and light, soaring above the Pujiang River, with magnificent scenery.
