"JIA Japanese Illustration Exhibition | Exhibition Review"

| Exhibition Review. Not only did I visit the classical painting exhibition in Shanghai, but also modern painting. The JIA Japanese Illustration Award-winning exhibition is one of them. We came very coincidentally, just in time for the last day. Unfortunately, we didn't get a paper ticket as a souvenir, but we got two postcards, which felt pretty good. 1️⃣📑About JIA: JIA (Japan Illustrators' Association) was established in 1999. It holds the JIA Illustration Award every year, aiming to discover and encourage outstanding illustrators worldwide. Every year, more than 50 illustrators from different countries win awards, including the grand prize, gold, silver, and bronze. 2️⃣🖼️This exhibition: This exhibition displayed the award-winning works of JIA in 2022 and excellent works from previous years. Overall, it was very pleasing to the eye. JIA is very inclusive. Although it is an illustration exhibition, some works using 3D modeling also won awards. This is not common in other specialized competitions. The award-winning works are not only diverse but also of high quality. 3️⃣⭐Starred works: My favorite work is the series of war equipment scene modeling with a strong sense of technology that won the silver award in 2019. Whether it's the sense of the future or the mechanical feel, it brings a full shock, reminding people of the scenes of the classic game StarCraft. The rendered light and shadow perfectly show that dark technological age, which is realistic and does not lose the game's visual sense. 4️⃣🕙Business hours: The exhibition has closed.
