ZhuJiaJiao Ancient Town

ZhuJiaJiao Town, under the jurisdiction of Qingpu District, Shanghai, is located in the western part of Shanghai and the central and southern part of Qingpu District, adjacent to Dianshan Lake Scenic Area. It borders Xidaying and Huancheng to the east, overlooks Dianshan Lake and Daguan Garden Scenic Area to the west, neighbors Shenxiang Town to the south (merged in 2001), and borders Dianshan Lake Town, Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province to the north. ZhuJiaJiao Town is located between 30°~31° north latitude and 120°~121° east longitude, 6 kilometers east of Qingpu Town and 48 kilometers from the center of Shanghai. The 318 National Highway runs through the town. The total area of the town is 136.85 square kilometers (including water area). In 2013, the gross national product was 6.34 billion RMB. In 1991, it was listed as one of the four major historical and cultural towns in Shanghai. In 2007, it was rated as the third batch of "China's Historical and Cultural Towns (Villages)". On October 14, 2016, ZhuJiaJiao Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai, was rated as the first batch of Chinese characteristic towns by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. On May 24, 2018, ZhuJiaJiao Town was selected as one of the top 50 most beautiful characteristic towns.
