Exploring Zhujiajiao Ancient Town

#favouriteitinerary A while ago, I visited Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, known as the "First Water Town of Shanghai" and one of the city's four major historical and cultural towns. With free entry, it was easy to explore the town's charm. Kezhi Garden, built by the original owner Ma Wenqing, blends the essence of Jiangnan gardens with Western culture, creating a unique private estate. Hexin Garden, a museum of gardens, history, and culture, revealed new scenes with each step, featuring exhibits from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Fangsheng Bridge, the largest, longest, and tallest five-arch stone bridge in Shanghai, impressed with its grandeur. To avoid the commercial crowds, visiting after shops close around 7-8 PM was ideal. The night stroll along the illuminated stone-paved streets offered the poetic beauty of "small bridges, flowing water, and quaint homes." Zhujiajiao Ancient Town's enchanting charm and cultural beauty made it a memorable experience. I highly recommend exploring its unique allure.
