Lago sets the tone for authentic fine dining. I was blown away by the spectacularly lit tunnel entrance with an array of lasers and LED candles that lit the pathway to the dining room. It felt light a trail leading into another galaxy; very astro chic. There are 2 dining rooms. The first room immediately follows the tunnel. It is simple yet classy with white decor and a beautiful bronze bar in the center of the room. The main dining room is the true wow factor! The color scheme of red, brown, and cream and the picturesque light fixture induced a sudden feeling of joy. The room is in the shape of a cylinder, much of which allows a fabulous view of the Bund. There is also an outdoor terrace with proper seating and great views. I was excited for dinner long before seeing the menu. Dinner was much to be desired. Although the portions are small, it was very filling. The Ravioli Capresi was delicious, tasting of smoked cheeses and freshly made pasta. The Pollo alla Cacciatora was tender and flavorful. The Chocolate Gelati was rich and creamy. The Puffer Up cocktail was acidulous but enjoyable. Every dish was incredible. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening, anniversary, or special occasion.
