Magical Staycay at Shanghai Disney!

We purposely stayed in the hotel for access to the park and having stayed in Disney hotels in Florida and Paris had high expectations. The hotel did not disappoint in any aspect! Right from getting out of our taxi from the airport the hotel staff were there to collect our luggage and make sure the driver did not overcharge for our journey. Check in was easy and all staff were very helpful. There is a slight language barrier but this was resolved by just talking slower however the English of staff was generally very good and if they struggled they would get a colleague over to help. From first walking into the reception the lobby was immaculate, not a single thing out of place, no dirt or signs of uncleanliness which remained the case at all hours we were there. Our room was great, the beds were very comfortable as were the pillows, everything was tidy, cute slippers are left which were nice to take home. There were also Disney cups in the room I assume for children which staff said we were welcome to take with us. We didn’t hear any noise from outside in our room despite facing the car park. The room itself is a lovely design, there is a button near the bed that sets off a mini light show in the headboard of the beds, a small but beautiful touch. Hidden mickeys in the bed linen and when pulling out the bed from underneath the tv there is a cute little painting of Mickey sleeping underneath. The bath robes provided were also cosy. We did get out and explore the grounds which had a lot of hidden details, including Cinderella carriage and statue along with a glass slipper on the stairs. The swimming pool is very well decorated, it is little mermaid themed, subtle understated and very very clean. We did look at the gym but didn’t go for a work out. Kids club looked nice for kids to go to and they could make Mickey themed crafts. There were also character meet and greets in the main lobby which characters seemed to change frequently. Overall we were highly impressed #summervacation#hotelstay#urbanexplorer

Top 5 Cities To See During A Holiday In China In my capacity as the UK Director of Operations for One World Tours Limited, one of my jobs is to ensure every client has the best tour possible, so here are my top 5 suggestions for cities to visit in China during your holiday. 1.Shanghai is a magnificent city whose culture changes almost before your very eyes. The City has reshaped itself since the market restrictions have been lifted and offers a new and inspirational atmosphere. The Bund (Zhongshan Road) has remained virtually unchanged and is instantly recognised as one of the famous landmark waterfronts in Shanghai for many, many years. There are various temples and gardens within Shanghai, some of them in the past were left unattended which enabled the forces of nature to reclaim them. #popularswing#lanternshow#beautifulhotel#summervacation#hotelstay#urbanexplorer

Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park

My friend and I went and were pleasantly surprised. The enclosures for some of the animals were smaller than I would like. The shows were quite good and the lines not too long. We didn’t do any of the rides though so I can’t comment on them. The bathrooms were easy to find and clean. The map was bilingual but the schedule was Chinese only. If it had been bilingual it would have been much more convenient. Staff were very pleasant and it was a nice day #summervacation#beachvacation#hikingtrails#hotelstay#urbanexplorer

Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park

There was a scheduled live shows (whales, walrus, dolphin). Make sure to check the given map and find the QR code for the show schedule. Lots of rides for kids. And a cable car if you need to get on the other side of the park quickly. Also, I really enjoyed the roller coaster! It was long and super fast. You'd need raincoat for the whale show and water ride. They sell disposable raincoats inside the park for 15 rmb. Also, you can bring food inside the park. #summervacation#beachvacation#hikingtrails#hotelstay#urbanexplorer

Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park

First time visiting the park with low expectation. Quite a surprise to find lot of activities suitable for kids but some of the amusement have to wait for at least 45-minutes, this is event when the park only about 20% fill what makes it worst is the air circulation in the waiting area make things not comfortable. The center piece attraction is the Dolphin show. Quite tricky with the pricing as there is an added fee of RMB 90 person if you want to jump the queue. Overall is good for kids. Great day out at the Park. I petted the dolphins for a RMB 350fee. What a treat. We enjoyed the orca and dolphin shows very much. Since we did not plan to do rides, we watched both shows twice. The penguin, seal pavilions were great too. The down side is that the shark aquarium seems a little small for some of the sharks. Similarly, some of the exhibits in the Arctic pavillon were also a tad small for those specific animals. Perhaps these habitats can be upgraded soon. The other animals looked happy and active, so we really enjoyed ourselves. #summervacation#beachvacation#hikingtrails#hotelstay#urbanexplorer
