100 Ways of Travel in Shaanxi Province

#100waysoftravel Shaanxi Province is the gateway to Northwest China. It is located in the center of the country and is considered the spiritual cradle of Chinese culture and history, as well as the beginning of the Great Silk Road. It was here, in the city of Chang'an (now the administrative center of the province - Xi'an), that the legendary trade route to the west began. The province has a very ancient and rich history. For more than 1,000 years, it represented the political, economic and cultural center of ancient China. The capitals of 13 dynasties were located here, including such famous ones as Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang. From here the country was governed for 1180 years. In ancient times, the province was called "Qin". And the province became one of the most prosperous in China during the Han rule. Shaanxi is one of the favorite places for tourists from China and from all over the world, because there are many historical monuments of ancient culture here. There are 72 graves of emperors on the territory of the province, which testifies to the extremely important place of this region in the social, economic and cultural life of China in different periods of its rich history. Most travelers come here to see the famous Terracotta Army – thousands of statues of warriors and their horses buried next to the tomb of the first emperor. Today, Xi'an is the administrative center of Shaanxi Province, located in the Northwestern region of China. Xi'an was the starting point of all caravans traveling along the Great Silk Road from China to the West. It was along the Great Silk Road that Buddhism came to Xi'an, which then spread throughout China. Xi'an is the cultural heritage of the whole of China and the best option for independent travel in this province. Baoji is one of the Chinese cities of interest to tourists. Tombs, pedestrian streets, ancient temples and monasteries are located within the city and are easily accessible by public transport. Xianyang is another city where there are many attractions, the number of ancient tombs and burials and museum exhibits is countless.
