When it comes to classic landmarks in Seoul, the first places that come to mind are Hongdae, Myeongdong, and Dongdaemun. But this time, I specially arranged half a day to visit the dream place in the hearts of Korean Wave fans and sports fans - Jamsil Stadium (잠실종합운동장). I didn’t expect the atmosphere along the way and the enthusiasm on site to be so much more than I expected! As soon as I exited the Jamsil Sports Center subway station, the atmosphere changed immediately. Along the way, you can see a lot of professional baseball billboards, from player portraits to highlights of past games. The cheering flags of the two popular teams, LG Twins and Doosan Bears, are hung all over the exterior walls of the stadium. Many fans wore jerseys, held banners and took photos with the large billboards. Some even posed professionally for photos. The scene was as lively as a party! Why is Jamsil Stadium worth a special visit? 1. K-POP concert sanctuary This is the preferred venue for countless K-pop idols to hold concerts, including BTS, BTS, BLACKPINK, etc. Even if you just walk outside the venue, you can feel the "pilgrimage feeling". Every spring, Seoul is filled with pink bubbles, and my most unforgettable moment was being surrounded by a sea of cherry blossoms at Yeouido Hangang Park! We arrived in the afternoon and were immediately surrounded by cherry blossoms as we entered the park. I highly recommend walking along the Han River trail for a wide-open view and dreamy photo ops. There are many vendors along the way selling Korean fried chicken, and you can buy a cup of coffee milk to enjoy a picnic on the grass. The atmosphere is super chill. We also saw many Korean couples renting picnic mats and tents, enjoying the flowers, chatting, and relaxing—it's the epitome of spring romance. 📍 It's recommended to come early and rent a bike to ride around the lake, which is perfect for families or couples.
