Exploring Seoul in Winter: A Journey of History, Fashion, and Unforgettable Cuisine

Upon arriving in Seoul, the 'Welcome to Korea' sign at Gimpo International Airport immediately conveyed a warm welcome. However, stepping out of the airport, the biting cold of Seoul's winter was immediately felt, with temperatures ranging from -3 to -10 degrees Celsius, making me pull my coat tighter. The first stop of the trip was Gyeongbokgung Palace, which appeared particularly majestic and solemn in the chilly weather. Then, we headed to the shopping district near Hongik University, a fashion haven for Seoul's youth, brimming with creativity and energy. Fashion boutiques and independent cafes lined the streets, showcasing the lifestyle of Korea's younger generation. A highlight of the trip was visiting a famous restaurant in Seongsu-dong known for its potato and pork rib soup. The food here was unforgettable, especially realizing the long queue behind us as we left, highlighting the popularity of this authentic dish. Every sip of the rich broth brought a touch of warmth in the cold, and the perfect combination of potatoes and pork ribs left a lasting impression. Although the trip was cold and didn't receive much warm response, Seoul's culture, history, and exciting culinary experiences undoubtedly made this journey full of memorable moments. Seoul, with its unique charm, proved once again that no matter when you visit, there are always new surprises and profound cultural experiences to be found. I hope to visit this vibrant city again in a warmer season in the future.
