Parents Who Don't Spoil the Fun - Kyung Hee University

My daughter finished her high school entrance exam this year, and I promised to fulfill one of her wishes. She wanted to go to South Korea to see her favorite girl group, Babymonster, in concert. She used her New Year's money to book the concert tickets online. At fifteen, she dragged her fifty-year-old parents along, and we embarked on our trip to South Korea. In the spirit of being parents who don't spoil the fun, all the travel plans were made by our daughter. Apart from the concert, she decided to go with the flow and firmly refused to join any tour groups. Thus began our five-day spontaneous trip. Unlike our previous well-planned trips, this one had a sense of adventure and the unknown, which was quite enjoyable. Our itinerary was from the 8th to the 16th: 11th: Fly from Shanghai to Seoul, attend the concert at Kyung Hee University in the afternoon. 12th: Visit Korea Village and Myeongdong; stroll around Dongdaemun in the evening. 13th: Take the THX to Busan, check in at Haeundae. 14th: Sleep in, take a small train to Cheongsapo and Songdo. 15th: Ride the marine cable car, visit Gamcheon Culture Village, and explore the Can Market in the evening. 16th: Return to Shanghai. Let's talk about our first day in Seoul. We stayed at a hotel near Dongdaemun Station, which made traveling very convenient. Following our daughter's lead, we chose public transportation and bought subway cards, relying mainly on the subway for getting around. We were amazed at how convenient it was to travel, thanks to Ctrip, Baidu, and Papago, which helped us overcome any language barriers. We arrived in Korea at noon, and my daughter's concert was at 4 PM. After checking into the hotel and settling her dad, my daughter and I set off for Kyung Hee University, known as the most beautiful university in Asia. Upon exiting the subway, we realized that the Peace Hall was quite far from the main campus. We were about to take a taxi when my daughter spotted a shuttle bus, so we hopped on. The driver was very kind and even called us back when we almost got off at the wrong stop. I was quite impressed when we arrived at the Peace Hall; it was a magnificent cathedral. We wandered around the hall before entering to watch the concert. There were many young people, and I, a middle-aged woman, stood out among them. Determined not to spoil the fun, I watched the entire performance. Babymonster's concert was very popular, and during the climax, everyone stood up, swaying and singing along to the music. I had to stand up too, but fortunately, I was recording the whole thing, so I didn't have to sway. I successfully completed my daughter's task of recording the entire concert. After the show, we followed Baidu Maps back to the subway station and returned to the hotel. We reunited with my husband and found a place to eat in an alley opposite the hotel. Unexpectedly, we had the best meal of the trip—Korean beef barbecue and cold noodles—and the owner turned out to be Chinese! A perfect day came to an end!
