[Akita] Nyuto Onsenkyo Kaniba Onsen ♨️

Nyuto Kaniba Onsen is located in Senboku City, Akita Prefecture. It was named Kaniba Onsen because there are many crabs living in the streams near the hot springs. It is about a 50-minute bus ride from Tazawako Station. Take the bus bound for Nyuto Kaniba Onsen to the last stop and you will find Kaniba Onsen. You can stay overnight or just take a day trip to the baths. This time, I went in because I wanted to take a bath with a view of the snow. There is an abundant source of hot water, and the clear, colorless water made my skin smooth. There are two indoor baths and an open-air bath. The sources are different, but both are free-flowing. In addition, the hot spring minerals were floating around and warmed me to the core. It is said to be effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, stiff joints, bruises, sprains, chronic digestive diseases, hemorrhoids, poor circulation, recovery from illness, fatigue recovery, health promotion, high blood pressure, cuts, chronic skin diseases, chronic gynecological diseases, menstrual disorders, and diabetes (hydrogen sulfide type). There is also an open-air bath in the primeval forest about 50m from the accommodation, but it is a mixed bath during the day, so we gave up on it this time. Since it was a weekday afternoon, it was not crowded and we were able to enjoy the hot spring at our own pace. There were souvenirs from Akita at the reception, and we purchased Kaniba Onsen Manju. Bathing in the hot spring surrounded by the snowy scenery of nature was exceptional.
