Xiaoying Enshan Temple: Ancient and charming

The moment you enter Enshan Temple, you feel transported to a tranquil Japanese ink painting. The temple gate is majestic and imposing. Walking along the long, paved path, you're flanked by towering, ancient camphor trees, a scene of lush greenery. Ascending the steps, you're greeted by intricately carved, antique wooden buildings, their arched brackets permeating the air with the allure of traditional Japanese architecture. The air within the temple is filled with the delicate aroma of incense, bringing a sense of tranquility and peace to the mind. The most breathtaking sight is the 15-meter-tall, ancient wooden Buddha statue enshrined within the temple, remarkably lifelike and exquisitely carved. Standing before this majestic statue, a feeling of devotion surges, and an involuntary urge to kneel in worship. Although I'm not a Buddhist, visiting Onzan-ji Temple allowed me to deeply appreciate the unique peace and tranquility of Japanese temples.
