Sapporo Clock Tower

The Sapporo Clock Tower was constructed in the 19th century and is still an important symbol and landmark in Sapporo. It is the oldest building in Sapporo and the oldest clock tower in Japan. Because Americans helped develop the area at that time, the design and architecture of the building are of colonial American style. We were able to walk to the clock tower from Sapporo station in under twenty minutes, and there were lots of tourists there. It is a good place to learn some of the history of Sapporo.
