The ancient city permeated with the ambiance of Venice - Kotor

Kotor is the most famous tourist city in Montenegro, and almost every visitor to Montenegro will come to check in. Kotor is one of the cities along the Adriatic coast that has preserved the original appearance of a medieval old town most completely, with the entire old town filled with the ambiance of Venice, quiet and peaceful. Here lies Europe's most intact city wall - the Old Walls of Kotor. This ancient wall took several centuries to build and is the most complete city wall in Europe. The path leading up is paved with cobblestones, making the ascent exceptionally challenging. Reaching the end of the city wall, one can enjoy a spectacular view of the entire city of Kotor. Coming to Kotor, a World Heritage site: first, see the churches, then the ancient walls. The first highlight is the churches. There is a saying that for as many days as there are in a year, there are just as many churches in Kotor. The old town of Kotor has only about five thousand residents, but it is said to have as many as 360 churches, with the most famous being the Eastern Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, which is also the iconic building of the old town of Kotor. It is worth mentioning that while strolling through the old town, you will find many cats in the streets and alleys. Over time, the cats that can be seen everywhere have also become a beautiful scenery in the old town. The other major highlight of Kotor is the ancient city walls, which were first built in the 9th century and were continuously extended, widened, and reinforced until they took their present form in the 15th century. Of course, this is far from comparable to the Great Wall of our country. But climbing along the winding walls to the mountain and overlooking the old town of Kotor and the charming bay is definitely a pleasure.
