Tongchuan Ancient City

Tongchuan Ancient City is located in Santai County, Mianyang City, and has a history of more than 2000 years. This place still preserves the thousand-meter-long Ming Dynasty ancient city wall and the southeast gates. Outside the city wall, there are faintly visible thousand-meter-long red slogans. The weathered stone walls seem to tell passersby about the vicissitudes of life and human affairs over the millennia. This is also where the great poet Du Fu once lived, with relics of his life everywhere. He stayed in Tongchuan for one year and eight months, leaving behind more than 160 classic poems. On Niutou Mountain, where he once lived, there is still the Du Fu Thatched Cottage, the only residence named after Du Fu outside of Chengdu. This city requires a slow and careful experience.
