Suzani is a traditional Uzbek craft that once took a woman several years to create. She showed me a gorgeous red and gold floral pattern and said, "This is a Bukhara pattern," then she rolled out embroidered fabrics from different regions, saying, "Samarkand is characterized by this kind of blue," and "Khiva has a lot of geometric patterns." The history and pride of the region that is infused into each piece is conveyed, and it feels like I'm traveling around Uzbekistan.
