Swiss Panorama Tour: The Charm of the Bernina Express

On the nineteenth stop of our Swiss panorama tour, we had the privilege of boarding the famous Bernina Express. The Bernina Express is a shining star of Swiss railways. It traverses the Alps, connecting Tirano in Italy with Chur or St. Moritz in Switzerland, with a total of 25 stops along the way. Since its first journey in 1973, this train has been consistently ranked among the most beautiful train routes in Europe. One of its most notable features is the breathtaking scenery along the way. It passes through 55 tunnels and crosses 196 bridges. As the train travels on tracks with an altitude difference of about 1828 meters, climbing from low-altitude areas and then descending slowly, the scenery outside the window is as varied as the changing seasons. You can enjoy views ranging from meadows to shrublands, lakesides with a southern flair, snow-capped peaks, and deep ancient gorges. The bright red carriages of the Bernina Express are as striking as flames dancing in the mountains. Its design is very considerate, with double-layer anti-fog glass allowing tourists to clearly view the scenery outside. The interior is luxurious and comfortable. Snacks and drinks are also available on board, allowing you to enjoy delicious food while admiring the scenery. Riding the Bernina Express feels like being in a moving painting. You will see the train winding along zigzag tracks and even experience the stunning 360-degree loop after Brusio.
