Through back to World War 2nd at Hellfire Pass

Hellfire Pass, the name of the railway from Kanchanaburi to Burma during World War 2nd. The "Death Railway" is another name of the railway route which was built with forced labour during the Second World War, in part by Allied prisoners of war. The pass is notable in the harsh conditions and heavy loss of life suffered by its labourers during construction. “Hellfire Pass” is named from the sight of emaciated prisoners labouring by burning torchlight resembled a scene from Hell. Today the Hellfire Pass is no longer any trains running on this stretch of the line. Hiring local taxi or take a day tour is the easy way to go there. There is Hellfire Pass Museum under sponsored by Australia Government. You will get to know better about the story of the place as well as admire with the beauty of the west tropical forest surrounding you.
