What better place to experience my first white-water rafting than on the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world? During our visit to Rotorua on New Zealand's North Island, my dad and I had an amazing time rafting with Kaituna Cascades. Our guide, who was from the U.S., was highly experienced, though he joked that it was only his second day on the job. Despite his warning that rafts often flip going down the falls, ours didn’t, thanks to his expert instructions. Everyone in our group stayed safe and sound.
