Rongcheng Winter Romance Exclusive｜Encounter the Siberian Whooper Swans

Chengshanwei in Rongcheng, Weihai, has the largest Swan Lake in northern China. The best time to watch the swans is from November to March of the following year, with the highest number of swans in January. They start flying away gradually from the end of February. The sunset and post-snow scenery are especially beautiful. Recommended Viewing Spots: Yandunjiao Seaside Harbor: Features: o Early development, the village has guesthouses, restaurants, and cafes, where you can enjoy the ancient village, harbor, swans, and seaweed houses. o Many swans, but can only be viewed from the shore, looking down on the swans. Viewing Time: Best for shooting near sunset, with swans swimming on the sea under the sunset and evening glow, as beautiful as foreign ports. Tips: The village sells corn kernels (3-5 RMB/bag). You can bring your own corn kernels. Between 3-4 PM, you might encounter staff feeding the swans together. Rongcheng Swan Lake National Park: Features: o Moderate number of swans but more active, with glass enclosures for eye-level viewing. o You can watch swans playing in the water and flying up close, along with mallards and spot-billed ducks. There is a Swan Lake Science Museum and a café. Viewing Time: At sunset, the vast reed beds, elegant white swans, and orange-flavored sunset create a romantic scene. Tips: The westernmost area has no glass enclosure, allowing close feeding. The unmelted ice and snow, swans, reeds, and mountains together form a Nordic chilly landscape. Chezhu Gou Great Swan Nature Reserve: Opening Hours: November 11 to March 31 of the following year (may be closed during the Spring Festival), daily from 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM. Features: Pristine wetland mudflats with a grand visual impact. The sunrise here feels like the vast African savannah. You can get close to the swans. Few tourists visit, mostly photography enthusiasts. Viewing Time: Best for sunrise viewing; you need to arrive early. Tips: You can observe swans up close. The snowy atmosphere is strong, but be careful of slippery roads after snow and avoid stepping into water by mistake. Detailed Routes: • Route 1: Entrance at Haoyunjiao Middle School o Opening Hours: 5:30 AM - 9:00 AM, close to the swans. o Route: Navigate to "Haoyunjiao Middle School," enter from the main gate diagonally opposite the intersection, follow the road to the path marked "Honghu Photography Base," go to the end and turn left. There is parking on both sides. At the end, enter through the iron gate on the right, go straight to see the swans, turn right and continue to a small slope where many swans gather. You can feed them corn here. • Route 2: East Entrance of Bufutian Swan Lake Hotel: o Opening Hours: Open anytime, farther from the swans. o Route: Exit the Bufutian Swan Lake Hotel parking lot, turn right, walk along the road toward the sea, turn left at the end, continue to the end to see a wire fence. Find the broken fence on the left front, go down the steep slope, and follow others' footprints for safety.
