Yandunjiao Swans

Take advantage of the off-season and come see the swans 🦢 before they leave for the year. Yandunjiao Village is a fishing village in Rongcheng where people live in harmony with nature. Every year, hundreds of swans come here to spend the winter, and people can get up close and personal with them. This small fishing village is known as "Swan Village." Located at the easternmost tip of the Shandong Peninsula in Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, Yandunjiao Village boasts a coastline of bays and capes, rich in marine resources such as fish, shrimp, shellfish, and algae. It has a warm temperate monsoon climate and is the world's largest swan wintering habitat. The Rongcheng Swan National Nature Reserve has been established here. Every year, from November to April, tens of thousands of swans from Siberia winter in the numerous lakes and bays along the Rongcheng coast. These bays and lakes are commonly known as Rongcheng Swan Lake. "Seaweed houses" are another attraction for tourists in Yandunjiao Village. These unique houses, characteristic of the Jiaodong coastal area, are built with stone walls and seaweed roofs, providing warmth in winter and coolness in summer. They are known as "living specimens of Chinese ecological architecture." Currently, this small fishing village has preserved more than 200 seaweed houses, making it one of the villages with the most preserved seaweed houses in the area. Stroll through Yandunjiao, with the swan habitat bay on one side and the fishing village on the other, where people, animals, culture, and nature coexist in harmony.
