The scenery of Rong County is intoxicating

The ancient Zhenwu Pavilion of Rong County is located on the north bank of the Xiuxiu River in the east of Rong County. It is one of the four famous ancient pavilions in southern China, along with Yueyang Tower in Hunan, Yellow Crane Tower in Hubei, and Tengwang Pavilion in Jiangxi. In 1982, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit and is known as a "masterpiece of the south." The Pavilion was first built in the second year of the Qianyuan period of the Tang Dynasty (759 AD). In the early Ming Dynasty, the Zhenwu Temple was built on the Pavilion, and in the first year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573 AD), the Zhenwu Temple was expanded into a three-story pavilion, which is the current Zhenwu Pavilion. The entire pavilion is a pure wooden structure with a lever design, with a total height of 13.2 meters, a width of 13.8 meters, and a depth of 11.2 meters. It is composed of nearly 3,000 wooden components, which are connected and coordinated with each other using the principle of lever structure to form a beautiful and stable unified whole. The four large inner columns on the second floor, although bearing the heavy load of the upper floor, beams, columns, tiles, and ridge decorations, have suspended feet that do not touch the ground, making them the most exquisite and unique part of the entire pavilion structure. For more than 440 years, Zhenwu Pavilion has survived five earthquakes and four major typhoons and remains intact. It is the only one of the four famous pavilions that has not undergone major repairs and has been completely preserved to this day.
