๐Ÿ“… 3 days in Rome

๐Ÿ“… 3 days in Rome Day1: A visit to Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. Both are pretty near to each other. Can visit both for half day. Then you can visit the first Macdonald in Italy which is just next to Spanish Steps. Can try their Tiramisu. After lunch can visit Santa Maria Maggiore, the resting place of Pope Frensesco and other popes. You will also get to see the replica of baby Jesus Crib. Itโ€™s an incredible church with many sections. It is also FOC. Day2: Can visit The Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St Peterโ€™s Basilica. Need to book in advance. Recommend 1 month in advance. Bring along an ID eg driving license or passport for security check. This place has its own government. A state of its own. Itโ€™s a very big compound. Sistine chapel is amazing where you will see the Old Testament on 1 side of the wall and New Testament on other side of the wall. The middle wall is Judgement day. The works of Michaelangelo is fantastic. In St Peterโ€™s Basilica you will get to see the tomb of St Peter together with other Popes Tomb and St Paul. Inside the Vatican there are many artifacts and beautiful paintings like a museum. After that can grab a gelato, authentic gelato are those inside metal tin with covers. Not those that are colorful and expose. Day3: Go to Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Forum. Also need to book way in advance. And please get the skip the Q ticket. The guide will tell you about the construction of the colosseum and how the gladiators fight among themselves and the wild beast. Also their chambers. Itโ€™s an amazing architecture thousand of years ago. Visit the arena where the gladiators fight. Can also have a better view of their chambers below. After that can visit Pantheon, the oldest temple still standing with the largest dome in the world. Prepare yourself to walk. Suggest to put on running shoes. ๐Ÿจ Accommodation : I was staying in Hotel Milani. Just 5 mins walk away from train station. Also walkable to Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Santa Maria Maggiore. All within 20-30 mins walk. To go to the Vatican may take the Metro which is also at the Roma Termini train station. Can pay with credit card. But is 1 card per person. Cannot use same card to purchase 2 or more tickets. There are many hotels near the train station. The hotel we stayed is ok but the room is quite small, for 2 medium size luggages. One have to open beside the door. Also the rooms are in between 2 floors. So need to carry luggages up or down the stairs to go to the room. If you do not mind these, is a pretty decent hotel. ๐Ÿด Food Recommendations: mainly Pasta and Pizza. There are many around. Have to try your luck. So far all are pretty ok. ๐Ÿ“Œ Tips Be alert and do not be complacent. Many pickpocket warnings around. There are also many police and military police around train stations and point of interest. So itโ€™s pretty safe. So far we have not seen any pickpocket in actions. Happy travel!
