Rizhao Budget Hotels: Every Frame is a Scenic Stay

In-depth Experience at the Sheraton Rizhao: A Multifaceted Analysis of a Cost-Effective Choice I recently checked in to the Sheraton Rizhao and had a rich and unique experience. Here's a detailed account of my stay. 💰️Average cost per person: The hotel's prices vary significantly between peak and off-seasons. During the 2024 summer vacation, a standard city-view room cost over 1,000 CNY; in mid-September 2024, a standard ocean-view room was just over 500 CNY; and in February 2025, the cheapest room was available for just over 400 CNY. The off-season offers incredibly high value for your money. 🏘️Room types/layout: The rooms are large and relatively new, and both city-view and ocean-view rooms have large balconies. There are a limited number of suites, including two ambassador suites and two ocean-view suites. I stayed in both ocean-view suites for a day each; room 01 is near the sailing center, and room 71 is near the bridge. The suites are well-designed, spacious, and comfortable. 🛌Amenities/facilities: The refrigerators in standard rooms are empty, while the suites are stocked with items. The suites are equipped with Dyson hair dryers and soft-bristled toothbrushes, which are very comfortable. The rooms are decorated in the new-generation Sheraton style, with a youthful feel, electric curtains, and JBL speakers. In the bathroom, the main toilet is a basic smart toilet (without automatic lid opening). The executive lounge is on the 12th floor and is spacious, with plenty of window seats for enjoying the ocean view, making it ideal for small gatherings with friends. The pool is on the first floor and is operated by a third party. The changing rooms are well-maintained, and the pool is relatively large compared to similar hotels. There weren't many people swimming on the day I checked in. However, the route from the gym reception to the pool is complicated. 🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness: The soundproofing is excellent, with minimal outside noise in the rooms, allowing for a peaceful rest. The cleanliness is also good, with both the rooms and public areas kept tidy and spotless. 💗Other tips: 1. The hotel is located near Wanpingkou in the Rizhao tourist area, offering beautiful sunrise views over the sea, but it's a bit of a walk from Wanpingkou Beach. 2. The executive treatment doesn't include a complimentary two-piece ironing service. The welcome fruit used to be a combination of fruit and snacks, but now it's just fruit. 3. Some of the cold dishes in the lounge are leftovers from breakfast. The hot dishes, such as beef rolls, crab sticks, and basa fish fillets, have a strong fishy smell, the soup is too salty, and the small cakes aren't very good. However, the afternoon tea on the second day included chocolate lava cake. The specialty fried dough twists with sauce and pancakes are delicious, and the breakfast includes duck blood vermicelli soup. The fried dough sticks were too dry. 4. There's a very enthusiastic older gentleman in customer support, but apart from the housekeeping staff, other employees weren't very proactive in greeting guests during my stay. 5. The hotel refunds the deposit the day after check-out, not on the same day or at the time of check-out. 6. Breakfast is served in the Feast Western Restaurant on the 1st floor. It offers a wide variety of options, incorporating local Rizhao specialties such as pancakes and tofu, but the bakery selection is limited. Overall, the Sheraton Rizhao is a good choice, especially during the off-season when it offers excellent value. While there's room for improvement in service and some facility details, it still provides a comfortable stay.
