Professor Ting Zhaozhong, a world-renowned outstanding physicist, won the 1976 Nobel Prize in Physics for his outstanding contributions to the field of particle physics, especially the discovery of the J particle. He firmly believes that experiment is the cornerstone of scientific research. Without experimental verification, theory will lose its meaning. Over the past four hundred years, our understanding of the structure of matter has relied heavily on breakthroughs in experimental physics. Professor Ding cares about his motherland and has returned to China every year to give lectures since 1975. He is committed to promoting the development of high-energy physics in China and promoting exchanges and cooperation in the international scientific community. In 2014, he personally participated in the construction of the Ding Zhaozhong Science and Technology Museum in Rizhao City, pouring his efforts from design to completion. The design of the Science and Technology Museum is inspired by Professor Ding’s scientific research and cleverly integrates the essence of scientific experiments into the building. The five main exhibition halls display Professor Ding's major research results at different stages, such as the measurement of electron radius and the study of heavy photons. The entire science and technology museum is like a huge scientific device, leading visitors to explore the mysteries of science. On the ground, a two-way spiral ramp surrounds the core of the building, providing visitors with a 360° viewing experience. Standing at a high place, you can overlook the entire science and technology museum and the surrounding scenery, as if you are in a scientific universe. Ting Zhaozhong Science and Technology Museum is not only a perfect combination of science and art, but also an important bridge connecting the scientific community and the public. It gives us a deeper understanding of the charm of science and inspires our desire to explore the unknown world.
