The castle of Masmak

#celebrateit Located in the old town of Riyadh, the fortress Masmak Castle means "thick wall" in Arabic. The Saud family, the royal family of Saudi Arabia, was driven out of Masmak Castle by the attack of the archenemy Rasid family, and after fleeing to Quate for about 10 years, Abdulaziz succeeded in retaking it in 1902. And from here, it began to move towards the unification of the Arabian Peninsula, and in 1932, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which means "the Kingdom of Arabia by the Saud family", was born. Masmak Castle was used as a royal palace until 1938, but is now open to the public as a museum.
