a summer trip to Rishiri island

This summer, we took a relaxing drive around Rishiri Island where Mt. Rishiri rises majestically at the center, watching over everything like a quiet guardian. The mountain looked especially stunning in the summer sun. Along the way, we stopped at a local shop and tried Milpis, a sweet and tangy handmade lactic acid drink that’s been loved here for over 50 years. We also visited a few natural springs—the water was so clean and cold, we filled our bottles straight from the source. Small swamps and ponds scattered around the island added a peaceful, untouched feel to the drive. this island is a Hidden gem of Hokkaido! #hokkaido #japan #travel #rishiriisland
