Designed by architect Guðjón Samúelsson and named after Icelandic poet Hallgrímur Pétursson, it took approximately 40 years to build and was completed in 1986! 🗼 Observation Deck The church's most striking feature is its observation deck! Take the elevator to the top for panoramic views of Reykjavik, the azure ocean, and even the snow-capped mountains. On clear days, the colorful roofs, characteristically Icelandic, resemble a Lego town. It's also a popular photo spot. 📸 🎶 Music and Pipe Organ Inside, there's a massive pipe organ, 15 meters tall and weighing over 25 tons. The majestic sound of the organ resonates during concerts and services, creating an unforgettable experience for travelers.
