Reno, the biggest little city in the world!

Having experienced Las Vegas a few times we thought we would give Reno a try, a smaller and a more manageable experience. Vegas is so big and busy now it can be quite overwhelming, especially if you stay in one of the super hotels. We decided to spend the night in Reno on the way back to California on a road trip. Downtown Reno itself is very small, a few blocks of buildings and hotels and a few small restaurants and entertainment venues. It has definitely seen better days as there are a lot of places that are closed or rundown, but it does have some charm as such a small city. It’s a great pitstop as hotels are a lot cheaper than Las Vegas and there is still a fair amount of choice, we stayed at the El Dorado and although it’s an older hotel it is well maintained throughout. We took a drive around the nearest city blocks and found a few cute places to eat and drink, browsed some gift shops and spent a bit of time in the sports bar which had a great atmosphere. Overall a decent one night stay if you want to experience the Vegas lifestyle without spending too much money. I was really impressed with the staffing as everyone from check in, housekeeping, store staff and door staff were friendly, welcoming and sincere. #reno #nevada #roadtrip #Hotel #hôtel
