Quzhou Tianji Longmen, a great weekend destination

Tianji Longmen, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national forest park, and a provincial scenic spot—one of the main scenic areas of Ziwei Mountain National Forest Park—is famous for its natural landscapes such as canyons, waterfalls, plank roads, and its rich dragon culture. The scenic area is based on volcanic rock canyon landforms, with the main peak, Shuimenjian, at an elevation of 1,452.8 meters, the highest peak in Quzhou. It features a deep valley and spectacular peaks stretching 25 Chinese miles with a relative height difference of nearly 1,000 meters. Basic Information Address: Located in Longmen Village, Huangtankou Township, Qujiang District, Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Opening Hours: Usually 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, subject to seasonal adjustments. Tickets: Currently free during Quzhou’s “Global Free Travel” period from November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026 (excluding the Spring Festival holiday). Regular ticket price is 65 RMB, with discounts for students with valid ID, and free admission for children under 1.2 meters. Additional tickets are required for attractions such as the glass plank road (20 RMB), high-altitude zipline (45 RMB), or a combined ticket for both (49 RMB). Transportation Guide By Car: About 1 hour from Quzhou city center. You can navigate directly to “Tianji Longmen Scenic Area.” Parking costs 10 RMB with no time limit. Public Transport: Take bus route 776 from Quzhou High-Speed Rail Station to the terminal station, about 1 hour, fare 2 RMB; or take the tourist shuttle bus from Quzhou Tourism Distribution Center, operating only Friday to Sunday, one trip per day, departing at 9:00 AM and returning at 3:30 PM, fare 5 RMB one way. Recommended Route: Start from the ticket gate and pass through Longfengfang, Huanglong Suspension Bridge, Bailong Twin Pools, Longtan Waterfall, Bailong Bridge, Yaziting Pavilion, Chaofeng Pavilion, Dragon Palace, Feitian Suspension Bridge, Glass Plank Road, Yibutongxian Bridge, Chiwen Pavilion, Feitian Zipline, and exit at the end. The hiking route is about 5 km long and takes 2-3 hours to complete. Since it is currently the free period of Quzhou’s “Global Free Travel” from November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026 (excluding the Spring Festival holiday), weekends are very crowded. If possible, visit on weekdays. Highlights Longmen Canyon: A deep canyon with clear streams and towering cliffs on both sides, resembling a “Dragon Gate.” Feilong Plank Road: Glass plank road and suspension bridge built along the cliff, offering panoramic views of the canyon, thrilling and exciting. Tianji Peak: The highest peak in the scenic area, offering magnificent views of the surrounding mountain ranges from the summit. Waterfall Group: Includes Longmen Flying Waterfall and others, especially spectacular when water volume is abundant; rainbows can be seen on sunny days. Glass Plank Road: Walk in the air along cliff edges, with stunning canyon views all around. “Dragon” Cliff Engraving: The largest “Dragon” character cliff engraving in China, covering 509 square meters, soaring amid misty mid-mountain clouds, fully visible along the plank road. Feitian Suspension Bridge: The 108-meter-long “Zhejiang West’s First Suspension Bridge” looks like a giant dragon flying across north to south. Dining: Many snack shops at the scenic area entrance; in the city, you can try Quzhou fried rice noodles and duck head specialties at Mazhandi. Accommodation: You can stay in Quzhou city or find homestays around the scenic area to experience the rural atmosphere. Hiking Tips: It is recommended to wear non-slip sports shoes as some sections have moss and can be slippery.
