Crossing the Kunlun Mountains, entering Hoh Xil

With its mysterious charm, it needs no meticulous carving to already be the most dreamy mythological story... -------It is the majestic Kunlun! The Kunlun Mountains start from the Pamir Plateau in the west. Almost all major mountain ranges in Asia originate here, such as the Himalayas, Tianshan, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush. However, the Kunlun Mountains are the longest among them, stretching over 2,500 kilometers from west to east to eastern Qinghai, making it the longest mountain range in Asia, hence called the 'Ancestor of Ten Thousand Mountains.' The glacier area of the Kunlun Mountains exceeds 3,000 square kilometers, making it one of China's major glacier regions. Its glacier meltwater is the source of several major rivers in China, including the Yangtze River, Yellow River, Lancang River, Nu River, and Tarim River. Therefore, it is called the 'Dragon Vein of China!' On the north and south sides of the Kunlun Mountains lie China's three major uninhabited areas—the Altun, Hoh Xil, and Qiangtang uninhabited areas. These regions are natural habitats for wildlife. We cross the Kunlun Mountain Pass along the G109 Qinghai-Tibet Highway, entering the vast Hoh Xil to admire the grandeur of the plateau's nature.
