First trip to Quanzhou

Took an early flight from Hangzhou ✈ Quanzhou, landed just after 8 am. With plenty of time as a retiree and advocating eco-friendly travel, I ended up stuck at the airport bus stop for a full hour [Facepalm][Cry] mainly because I missed the shuttle. Actually, the bus ride to the destination - Quanzhou Confucian Temple only took about 35 minutes. Though there were many stops, the driver sped through smoothly on clear roads [Yeah][Congratulate]. Stayed at Lisu Quanzhou (Kaiyuan Temple West Street Branch) with its main entrance on Zhongshan Middle Road and back gate right by the Confucian Temple. Just around the corner was Citong Bieyuan·Confucian Temple (Licheng Branch) for local delicacies, though a bit pricey! Visited Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple, Guan Yue Temple, Quanzhou Tianhou Palace, Qingjing Temple, and Chengtian Temple all in one day. Walking to so many places was exhausting, but thanks to Quanzhou's "Xiaobai" electric carts - absolutely must give them a thumbs up 👍 Hail-and-ride service within the old city at just 2 yuan per ride, super convenient!! Next day took a taxi to Qingyuan Mountain Scenic Area (70 yuan ticket). The driver suggested entering before 8 am for free access to the summit, or before 7 am at the main gate. Took photos at Lao Jun Rock with the "Number One Under Heaven" statue [Yeah], paid respects at Master Hongyi's Stupa. Didn't climb to the summit, instead took the shuttle to Nan Shaolin Temple (entered through back gate) - quite different from Songshan Shaolin Temple. Walked to the Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum to learn about Quanzhou's world-class and national-level heritage - very worthwhile! Afternoon leisure time, evening puppet show performance on West Street (booked via Ctrip). Third day joined a tour to Wulin Traditional Village in Jinjiang, Luojia Temple, Shishi Golden Coast, and Shishi "Little Weihai" - all great photo spots. Friendly reminder for Luojia Temple visitors: be extremely careful walking on the reef rocks below - I took a nasty fall and scraped myself painfully, even tore my clothes [Cry][Cry] Fourth morning visited Luoyang Bridge. Arrived too early before the museum opened, so just walked around outside. Local elders said the long stone slabs on the bridge have been preserved since ancient times - impressive! Truly deserves its title as "First Bridge Under Heaven"! Had lunch before heading home!!

Luojia Temple

When it comes to Shishi, Fujian, many people immediately think of delicious food and beaches. This tour takes you directly to Shishi's hidden spiritual spot: the underwater Buddhist temple, Luojia Temple! Nestled on the coast, the entire temple is not only incredibly spiritual, but also blends seamlessly into the serene sea and skyscape, making it a breathtaking photo op. On a clear day, it's even more breathtakingly ethereal. Recommended Attractions: 1️⃣ Luojia Temple 📍Address: Binhai East Road, Shishi City, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province ⏰Open year-round, 24 hours a day Located by the sea, Luojia Temple offers a truly unique experience. On clear days, the temple's roof and gates shimmer in the sunlight, with breathtaking ocean views behind. A fusion of modern architecture and traditional Chinese style, the temple's waterfront meets the tranquil river, creating a striking underwater scene. We highly recommend spending time in the square in front of the temple to savor the sea, the sacred architecture, and the vibrant cultural atmosphere—you'll never want to stop snapping photos. Most tourists just pass by quickly, but a careful exploration of every corner of the temple reveals many surprises—detailed carvings, quiet prayer corners, and, especially on sunny days, the vibrant colors create a vibrant, photogenic atmosphere. The temple is open year-round, allowing even novice travelers to visit or meditate at any time. Special Tip: Visit in the morning or afternoon; the temple and coastline are particularly spectacular in the sunlight, and the crowds are minimal. Food & Transportation Tips 1. There are local snack stalls at the entrance of Luojia Temple. I recommend trying the Shishi Shacha Beef to refuel before continuing your exploration. 2. From downtown Shishi, you can take a city bus directly to Binhai East Road. From there, walk a five-minute walk to the temple entrance. Transportation is very convenient, and the scenic area is free and open all day, so there's no need to worry about time limits. Additional Tips: - Sunscreen and sunglasses are highly recommended on sunny days. The beach is sunny but windy, making for excellent photography. - For a less crowded experience, avoid the holiday crowds. If you prefer a tranquil atmosphere, take a stroll along the beach. The view of the temple reflected in the water is truly soothing. Conclusion Shishi's Luojia Temple is a truly beautiful fusion of Buddhist exploration and natural exploration. Not only can you experience the aura of cultural architecture, but the soothing presence of the vast ocean is also a welcome relief. If you're visiting Shishi, consider planning a half-day or full-day trip to enjoy the underwater Buddhist temple on a sunny day, capturing both modern and traditional beauty! #ShishiSoulHealing #LuojiaTempleWaterBuddhistTemple #FujianCheck-In Spots #CoastalTemple #SunnyDayTravel

From the modern city, you can step through the niche streets and experience the charm of the blending of Chinese and Western cultures🤩. This guide will help you see all the night markets and temples on Zhongshan Middle Road in Quanzhou. Itinerary attractions recommended inventory ⭐ Quanzhou Zhongshan Middle Road Night Market Reason for recommending the night market: Authentic and warm! Night stall, authentic snacks (shacha noodles, oyster pancakes, fish ball soup), reasonably priced and fresh. There are also many handicrafts, toys and local trendy items slowly chosen at the night market, suitable for night owls and hipsters. Address: Zhongshan Middle Road, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province Opening Hours: Usually 18:00-23:30 (recommended busiest after 19:00) 🏮 Quanzhou City God Temple There are several temples near the night market, including the Chenghuang Temple and the Guandi Temple. Address: Zhongshan Middle Road, Leicheng District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province Open: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m Real insights/itinerary Tips practical supplement This time I stepped into the Zhongshan Middle Road Night Market, the biggest feeling was not only the human touch, but also realized that it is not just food, many handicrafts and temple culture are worth digging into. If you don't have to worry about getting lost when going to the night market, just go straight along the main road. Tip: The night market is crowded, it is recommended to bring a wallet and backpack keep in front, night market food can try a variety of small portions. The night view of the temple is actually very beautiful, and in some places there are free prayer cards or hand-painted guardians that you can take home. Conclusion: Transportation/Food/Tips 🚕Quanzhou travel: It is convenient to take a taxi or Didi in the city, there are several parking lots near the night market (it is recommended to walk easier to experience the whole process). 🍲Food recommendation: Shacha noodles must be tried, you can choose oysters and fish balls, fish ball soup 2 people 1 bowl is not too much, do not be afraid to eat not all. There are authentic old-fashioned bean curd and taro ball shops near the night market. The dessert is the perfect ending! 📍Night safety: There are administrators in the temple, keep valuables well, carry a small amount of cash enough to use.
