Qingyuan Mountain in Quanzhou

Qingyuan Mountain is a national 5A-rated scenic spot. Its main peak is 498 meters above sea level. The mountain is lush, the scenery is beautiful, and there are numerous cultural relics and historical sites. It has a rich cultural heritage and has been known as the "First Mountain of Penglai in the Min Sea" since ancient times. Both Laojun Rock and Shaolin Temple are full of the atmosphere of the Spring Festival. In Laojun Rock, a giant statue of Lao Tzu sits amidst the mountains and forests. It was carved in the Song Dynasty and has retained its charm for nearly a thousand years. Lao Tzu has a kind face and a serene demeanor, and the lines of his clothes are smooth and natural, demonstrating the superb carving skills of the ancients. The Taoist thought of "doing nothing and transforming naturally, being quiet and upright" seems to be condensed in this stone statue. Not far away is the Quanzhou Shaolin Temple, originally built in the Tang Dynasty. As the birthplace of Southern Shaolin martial arts, the temple has ancient banyan trees and simple and solemn architecture. During the New Year, monks practice martial arts and fitness, and every move shows the strength, speed, and rhythm of Southern Shaolin martial arts. The festive atmosphere and martial arts spirit in the temple blend together, exuding a unique historical charm and vigorous vitality.
