It is the site of "Star Lake Lotus Fragrance", one of the ten major scenic spots in ancient Quanzhou, and one of the eighteen new scenic spots in Quanzhou. 🥳 In ancient times, East Lake was part of the ancient Jinjiang River. During the Six Kingdoms period, due to the reduction of water sources in the upper reaches and the rise of land, it eventually became a lake. It is a large natural swamp lake formed by the alluvial deposits of the lower reaches of the Jinjiang River. It was named Qixing Lake in the Song Dynasty and "Wanpo Lake" in the Ming Dynasty. It is located in Yinggeli outside Xingchun Gate. 🏞 Because the shape of Quanzhou City resembles a carp, and the East Lake resembles the pearls spit out by a carp, it is also called "Carp Pearl Lake". In the Tang Dynasty, the lake area reached more than 4,000 acres, with Ergong Pavilion and Donghu Pavilion. In the Song Dynasty, Bonn Pavilion was added, and in the Ming Dynasty, Langu Pavilion was built. It is famous in the world because of the activities of Tang Dynasty Prime Minister Jiang Gongfu, Ouyang Zhan and other famous people here. The lotus flowers have fallen at this time of year, but there are still many beautiful flowers and trees in the park. 🌺🍃 This is a free park open to the public, and many nearby residents come here to take a walk and exercise. 🏃 If you are not far away, you can come here for a visit.
