The Quanzhou Overseas Transportation History Museum of Fujian Province (abbreviated as "Haijuoguan") was founded in 1959. It is a national first-class museum and the first maritime museum in China that reflects the history of ancient overseas transportation and the various economic and cultural exchanges it has triggered. The Maritime Museum has a total of seven permanent exhibitions, displaying many world-famous cultural relics. In addition to the national treasure-level Song Dynasty shipwreck, there are more than 200 representative ship models from various waters of China throughout the ages, as well as a large number of artifacts reflecting the folk culture of overseas transportation.
