The trip to Southern Xinjiang, to the Kunlun Holy Land of Banlangge, was not planned because it is really far, and all the contact numbers found online were unreachable, fearing a detour too far, and even more, fearing a wasted trip... But on the night before reaching Shache, I still couldn't stop thinking about it, so I decided on a whim to take a chance and detour over five hundred kilometers to Banlangge. From the moment I entered the scenic area, I felt the trip was worth it. The scenery is completely different from the Pamir region, more like Northern Xinjiang, with few people and stunning beauty, and photos can be taken at will. Kunlun mountain range, grasslands, snow-capped mountains🏔️, cattle and horses grazing freely, starry sky campsites, log cabins, everything is so free... A hundred miles of Kunlun Sky Road, a corridor of myths stretching for thousands of miles 🏔️ Cele County Kunlun Mountain Banlangge Scenic Area Starry Sky Campsite 🏕️ Overview: Currently, the infrastructure of the scenic area is relatively complete, such as starry sky camping tents, log cabins, pet parks, etc., but commercial marketing is not perfect, with almost no service, and it's almost impossible to find a reservation phone number for the scenic area online. You have to book on-site, but it's really free. There are only a few reception staff in the scenic area who can understand Mandarin and communicate in it, so it's still very primitive and simple. On the day we went, there were only 4 of us staying in the entire scenic area, with very few people. 🏠 Accommodation in the scenic area: Starry sky camping tents (only double beds, closer to the snow-capped mountains and grasslands), log cabins (with standard rooms, slightly better facilities). 🚗 Transportation: Self-driving cars can directly enter the scenic area to reach the starry sky campsite, and you can stop and take photos at any time along the way, because there are really very few cars, which is too suitable for those who like photography, hiking, and are obsessed with snow-capped mountains and grasslands. 👣 Distance: About 2.5H from Cele to Banlangge, about 3.5H from Hotan to Banlangge, all on the same road, and there is a strict speed limit along the way. 🍜 Catering: Mostly grilled lamb, instant noodles, only one shop selling snacks and fruits, prices are not expensive (reference: watermelon and Hami melon 4/kg, instant noodles 6/bucket, Xinjiang fried rice noodles 20/portion, etc.), it is recommended to bring some food. ⚠️【Precautions】 1) The temperature difference between morning and evening is quite large, pay attention to keeping warm; 2) The altitude of the scenic area is between 3500~3800 meters, prone to altitude sickness, it is recommended to bring oxygen and medicine; 3) There are many marmots, so there are also many holes🕳, be careful not to step into holes🕳 when playing on the grasslands; 4) Those with good physical strength must climb to the top of the grassland to the viewing pavilion, where you can see the Kunlun Fairyland stele and the sunlit golden mountain, absolutely beautiful;
