Qingdao Winter Two-Day Tour: Chasing Seagulls and Strolling the Old Town for Ultimate Healing

Winter in Qingdao is truly underestimated! No crowded peak season, just red tiles and green trees against the crisp sea, accompanied by flocks of seagulls. Two days filled with romance and healing~ 📝 Two-day itinerary to save in advance: Day 1: Zhanqiao Pier (feeding seagulls) → Badaguan (winter plane trees) → Xiaoyushan Park (overlooking the old town) → Xiaomai Island (sunset sea view) Day 2: Laoshan Yangkou (mountain and sea snow scenery) → Shilaoren Beach (coastal rocks) → Beer Museum (warming original brew) ❄️ Day 1: Winter Romance in the Old Town Head straight to Zhanqiao Pier in the morning! In winter, Zhanqiao is the seagulls’ domain. Spend 5 yuan to buy a bag of fried dough pieces to hold in your hand, and flocks of seagulls will circle around you. Capturing the flying moments, every frame is wallpaper-worthy~ A 10-minute walk takes you to Badaguan, where the winter plane tree avenue is covered in golden leaves. The fallen leaves on Jiayuguan Road contrast with European-style buildings, and the pink exterior of the Princess Building looks especially gentle in the cool tones. Standing under any tree for a photo feels cinematic. In the afternoon, climb Xiaoyushan Park. It takes only 20 minutes to reach the top, where you can take in panoramic views of the old town with red tiles and green trees. The winter sea is less noisy and more tranquil, perfect for layered overhead shots. At dusk, head to Xiaomai Island. Although the grass is yellowed, the sunset dyes the sea a warm orange. Sitting on the rocks listening to the waves and watching birds fly across the sky, all the winter romance is hidden here. ❄️ Day 2: Mountains, Sea, and Local Life Get up early and rush to Laoshan Yangkou! In winter, Laoshan sometimes has a light dusting of snow. Take the cable car to see the snow-covered peaks against the deep blue sea. Hike to Mitian Cave to overlook the mountain and sea scenery. It’s a bit cold, but the visual impact is incredible~ After descending, visit Shilaoren Beach. It’s so quiet you can have the whole beach to yourself. Seagulls on the rocks and the solitary Shilaoren statue make for stunning cold-toned silhouette photos. In the afternoon, dive into the Beer Museum. After touring, enjoy a warm original brew paired with beer nuts to warm up.
